Spring Pack Camping Trip

WHO: All Pack 449 Cub Scouts, Parents and Siblings are invited
WHAT: Our first campout of 2011 and a GREAT new location for us all!
WHEN: Friday, May 13th (be sure to leave Atlanta as early as you can to beat traffic!!)
Sunday, May 15th (leave about noon)
WHERE: Frank G. Lumpkin Campground on West Point Lake in LaGrange
WHY: FUN, FUN, and FUN

• Pack will supply BBQ dinner (Pork & Chicken) on Saturday!! Dens to bring sides: (Tigers-Salads; Wolves-Baked Beans; Bears-Mashed Potatoes; Web1-Chips & Drinks)
• We will have a “Dutch Oven Dessert Cook-Off” contest Saturday night between all of the Dens!!
• We will have a Den Flag Competition where all Dens will construct a Den flag on Saturday for bragging rights and prizes!!

Family camping = child and parent or guardian

This fee is waived (i.e. paid for by the Pack). Please remember there is a fee associated with camping for each and every person. So please remember to RSVP and change your RSVP if your plans change. No reason to waste the Pack's money if your family is not able to keep their commitments.


Cub family camping / Reminders:

No alcohol
No Pets
No smoking in site of the boys (including pipes)
Quiet time (10 PM - 7 AM) - be respectful for families trying to sleep or with small children
All Fires must be contained in a fire ring, and be attended at all times until out cold - with water or sand nearby
No foul language
No fighting and no hazing of scouts by parents or other children
No heat generation devices inside any tent
No air soft guns, bows/arrows, slingshots
No running with sticks
Parent or legal guardian required to attend with every scout
Watch out for the boys at all times – no accidents
Leave No Trace. Trash bins available (but no trash bags provided) – Assign 2 scouts to police area on Sunday.
Bring plenty of water for activities

  • Recreational items such as horseshoes, baseball & glove, fishing equipment, frisbees, kites
  • Several pieces of firewood - fire buckets.
